Deputy President Rigathi Gachagua and ODM leader Raila Odinga are once again making headlines in Kenya’s political scene. Gachagua recently dared Raila, stating that the Government would not sit at the negotiation table with the veteran opposition leader. This statement came after the clergy called for a meeting between the two parties.
Gachagua went on to term Raila a criminal and accused him of being scared to storm State House, leading him to destroy property in Nairobi’s CBD. These words did not sit well with Raila, who responded by stating that he was surprised to hear Gachagua bragging that Ruto should let him handle him. The ODM leader also dismissed Gachagua’s claim of being the son of Mau Mau, stating that he was not born when the freedom fighters were fighting for independence.
The political tension between Deputy President Rigathi Gachagua and Raila Odinga continues to escalate, with both sides making daring statements that are likely to stoke political tensions in the country.
